Dear Vladimir, Back in 1995 when the EMC situation was initiated (becoming law in 1997) I made a strong representation to the Manager and engineers in USA that any new developments should have EMC incorporated at the design stage but sadly this was not done and this ignorance has now caused us a serious credibility problem. Our advertising was put in place based on advice that everything would be sorted out by mid June, now however it is looking more like mid September before DFX’s will be available. I have asked them to give the re-design top priority and they have said that it will be, and will keep me updated on progress. This situation is deeply regretted and very embarrassing but we really do not have any alternative as we must abide by the law and in this respect if you hear of anyone using a White’s detector in your country which does not have a UK serial number then it is being used illegally and the owner and White’s could be very heavily fined for allowing use without the CE mark. My engineers advise me that re-designing and incorporating EMC from the beginning could make an even better performing detector and it could well be worth everyone’s while to hang on for another couple of months as it will certainly be to the users advantage. Personally, I think that the DFX will prove an even better detector that the XLT and you know what a winner that was. To assist in forward planning, if it was possible to advise me of how many DFX’s you may require initially, I will try and make sure when the units are available they are despatched immediately. I would also add that this ridiculous situation is not some marketing gimmick but a very embarrassing one not only for me personally, but for the whole of the White’s organisation, and one I hope will be resolved as quickly as possible. Kind Regards, |
