Rapiscan VEDS™ Mobile is a truck-mounted system, which can quickly be driven to sensitive sites to check vehicles for the presence of explosives or drugs. Operation is simple and requires minimal training. The decision processes are fully automatic and the location of the suspect threat is indicated on a digital image of the inspected vehicle. The automatic results, “clear” or “alarm”, are obtained visually and/or via an audio message immediately after each scan is completed. Rapiscan VEDS™ Mobile can be set by the operator to perform either continuous (“sweep”) or detailed (“spot”) scans.

Rapiscan VEDS™ Mobile is designed for high mobility, rapid deployment and high sensitivity. During travel on roads, the robust Rapiscan VEDS™ sensor is stowed securely along the axis of the truck. For scanning, the sensor is hydraulically deployed to either side of the truck, thus allowing scanning from either side. The height of the sensor can be adjusted to allow increased sensitivity for inspecting car trunks as well as large trucks and containers.

Rapiscan VEDS™ Mobile can be interfaced to the Rapiscan Systems Eagle® or GaRDS radiography products. This combined technology provides a high performance, integrated solution that meets customers inspection needs.
